STATE TIMES NEWS JAMMU: To mark the occasion of World Kidney Day, an awareness programme was organised at Bee Enn Hospital here on Thursday, which was attended by a number of consultants, resident doctors and paramedical staff. On the occasion, Dr S K Bali, Nephrologist delivered key note lecture. The theme of this year’s World Kidney Day is ‘Kidney Health Everywhere and Everybody’. While addressing gathering, Dr Bali said, “Diabetes, Hypertension and glomerulonephritis are common causes of kidney disease.” He emphasized upon early screening and control of diabetes and hypertension. “Smoking, obesity, toxins and pain-killer drugs etc are other risk factors for kidney ailments, which can be prevented,” he said. “Bee Enn Hospital is providing dialysis facility to patients since 2004 and a total 95,000 dialysis have been done till now. Dialysis Unit is being upgraded and new dialysis machines being installed shortly to cater to increased patient load,” he added.
