JAMMU: J&K High Court Bar Association, Jammu, on Wednesday gave warm and affectionate farewell to Justice Ramalingam Sudhakar and Justice Mohammad Yaqoob Mir who have been designated as Chief Justices of High Courts of Manipur and Meghalaya respectively at a function held here.
Justice Ramalingam and Justice Mohammad Yaqoob Mir have been transferred on account of their elevation as Chief Justices of High Courts of Manipur and Meghalaya respectively.
The function was started with the presentation of bouquets to Justice Ramalingam Sudhakar, Justice Mohammad Yaqoob Mir, Justice Alok Aradhey, Justice D.S Thakur, Justice Tashi Rabstan, Justice Sanjay Gupta and Justice J.R Kotwal by advocates namely Ajay Sharma, Seema Shekhar, Sudershan Sharma, Vikram Sharma, Baldev Singh, Pranav Kohli, Vishal Goel, Masood Choudhary, R.P Sharma, Veenu Gupta, Monika Kohli, Vishal Sharma, Rozina Afzal and Gourav Jamwal.
Apart from this, mementos were also presented to Justice Ramalingam Sudhakar and Mohammad Yaqoob Mir by the Senior Advocates namely U.K Jalali, D.C Raina, Sunil Sethi, K.S Johal, Surinder Kour and team of office bearers led by B.S Slathia, Senior Advocate, Bar President, besides, Sachin Gupta Vice President, Prem Sadotra General Secretary, Himanshu Sharma Joint Secretary and Chetan Misri Treasurer.
While addressing the gathering, Slathia said that the remarkable sense of justice and fairness combined with simplicity and brilliance have been the hallmarks of Justice Ramalingam and Justice Mohammad Yaqoob Mir.
While addressing the august gathering, the Judges expressed their gratitude to the cooperation received by them from their colleagues as well as members of the Bar Association.
Prem Sadotra, General Secretary compered the proceedings of the function.
Sachin Gupta presented vote of thanks and appreciated the role of Justice Ramalingam Sudhakar and Justice Mohammad Yaqoob Mir. The function was concluded with the reciting of National Anthem.

Meanwhile, Justice Ramalingam Sudhakar was given farewell reference by the High Court of Jammu and Kashmir at Srinagar upon his elevation as Chief Justice of High Court of Manipur.
Justice Ali Mohammad Magrey, Justice Sanjeev Kumar and Justice M K Hanjura were also present.
