STATE TIMES NEWS JAMMU: State Vigilance Organisation (SVO) on Friday arrested two bank officials, including a Manager for taking bribe from a customer in District Doda for sanctioning Kisan Credit Card (KCC) loan in his favour. “A trap was laid by the vigilance sleuths following which the Manager of Ellaquai Dehati Bank (EDB) and another official were caught red-handed while accepting Rs 2,000 bribe from the complainant in Pranoo area of Doda district,” an official spokesman said. On the basis of a complaint filed by Nisar Ahmed of Thalroo Pranoo Tehsil, FIR 13/17 under Section 5(1) (d) read with section 5(2) of J&K P.C Act and Section 4-A (Amendment Act-2014) was registered against Ominder Kharoo, Manager and Reyaz Ahmed (Messenger), Ellaquai Dehati Bank, he said. In his complaint, Ahmed alleged that these Bank officials had demanded Rs 10,000 as gratification from him for sanctioning a Kisan Credit Card (KCC) loan in his favour. Ahmed had given an advance of Rs 8,000 to the officials and the suspects were pressurising him for the remaining amount of Rs 2,000, the spokesman added. Accordingly on the basis of the complaint, a trap was laid by the vigilance team led by DySP Kartar Singh. Both the accused were caught red handed while demanding and accepting Rs.2000 as illegal gratification from the complainant. Further Investigations into the case has been set in motion.
