JAMMU: Promoting a noble cause to help the disabled, former Minister and MLA Bali Bhagat handed over TVS Wego Scooties to three differently-abled persons of Raipur-Domana Constituency.
The beneficiaries included Akshay Sharma, resident of Seri Panditan, Bharat Bushan, resident of Lower Barnai and Amit Sharma, resident of Bantalab.
Accompanied by a large number of people, Bali Bhagat handed over the two-wheelers in the presence of officials of Social Welfare Department, many locals of the area including social and political activists as well.
Speaking on the occasion, Bali Bhagat said that it is our duty to help these people who lost their ability to walk properly due to mis-happenings in their life. These initiatives help them to travel anywhere freely without the help of others, he added.
Former minister also appreciated the efforts of Social Welfare Department as well and stated that there are certain schemes of department as well under which disabled persons are provided with relief and it will be seen in the coming days that such persons are located in the constituency and every possible help will be provided to them through various schemes.
District Social Welfare Officer Jammu, Ex-District President BJP (Rural) Sukhdev Singh Jamwal, District Vice President BJP (Rural) Joginder Singh Chib, Ved Prakash, Kuldeep Singh Chib and Mukesh Sharma were also present.
