KATHUA: Sessions Judge Kathua M.A Chowdhary rejected the bail application of accused Parvez Ahmed Bhatt and Zorawar Singh in case FIR No. 49/2017 under Sections 8, 21 and 22 NDPS Act of Police Station Lakhanpur investigated by Inspector Kulbir Choudhary.
As per prosecution story, the accused persons on July 14, 2017 were found having in their possession 30 grams and 20 grams of smack (heroin) respectively which is a medium quantity near Army Camp at Lakhanpur-Basohli Morh while travelling in motorcycle bearing number PB35K-6386. They were arrested and case FIR No. 49/17 was registered.
After hearing public prosecutor and defence counsel, the Court observed that keeping in view the gravity and nature of offence and that the menace of drug in young generation has assumed alarming dimension, the Court is of the opinion that the application is without any merit and is liable to be rejected.
