State Times News RAMBAN: District Development Commissioner (DDC), Nazim Zai Khan Ramban today held an interaction with Block Chairmen, to review the status of works taken up under ‘Back to Village’ phase-I besides reviewing the arrangements for the 2nd phase of the programme. The meeting was attended by Block Development Chairmen of various blocks, Assistant Commissioner Development, Zameer Rishu, ACR, Harbans Lal, DPO and various others. DDC said that PRIs should take opportunity for upliftment of villages in their respective Panchayat halqas and blocks. The theme of the 2nd phase of B2V is “doubling the farmers’ income” stressing on the agriculture sector, he added. DDC also reviewed the preparations for the second phase of the ‘Back to Village’ programme and urged the chairmen to sensitize the people about the programme to ensure adequate participation of people in the programme. While elaborating on empowerment of PRIs under 14th FC, GPDP and Mission Antyodaya, the DDC said a cumulative and effective role of all stakeholders is need of the hour for the sustained development of rural areas of the district. The DDC urged the BDC chairmen to work in close coordination with the line departments and field functionaries to ensure proper utilization of funds and timely completion of development works in their blocks. Stressing on BDCs chairmen to work for public interests, the DDC said these public representatives are important to boost developmental process on the grass root level. During the interaction, the local representatives apprised the DDC about their grievances and sought early redressal. They also urged for early completion of works under ‘Back to Village’ Phase-I.
