RAMBAN: An awareness camp cum debate competition on ‘child labour’ was organised by Department of Labour, in collaboration with District Information Centre (DIC) Ramban at Government High School Chanderkote on Wednesday.
Assistant Labour Commissioner (ALC), Ramban Ganshyam Basorta, Head Master GHS Firdous Ahmed and teachers besides large number of students were present on the occasion. Speaking on the occasion ALC laid stress on the dire need to protect the children from labour when they need to study in schools. He said that Labour Department is working in liaison with Education Department and various NGOs to trace the whereabouts of the school dropouts who may be probable child labours. DIC Ramban also organised a colourful culture programme on the occasion which was highly liked by the audience.
