STATE TIMES NEWS JAMMU: All Jammu Auto Operators Association, on Tuesday staged a protest near Press Club against the attempts to harass the auto drivers in the name of mass checking. President of the Association, Shanti Sawroop Gupta alleged unnecessary harassment by Traffic Department and Motor Vehicle Department of Auto Rikshaws. “If harassment is not stopped, we will left with no other option but to go for strike,” he said. “We are ready to operate the Auto’s on meter rates but Rs.33 first two km is not accepted to us.” He said and announced for one day token strike on May 29, 2019. “If government will not pay allow meter rate of Rs.50 down within 72 hours we shall be forced to go on indefinite strike,” he threatened.
