SAMBA: The arrangements for Army Recruitment rally to be held from 2nd to 18th April at Samba were reviewed in a meeting chaired by DDC Sheetal Nanda here on Thursday.
The meeting was attended by MLA Vijaypur, Chander Parkash Ganga, MLA Samba Devinder Kumar Manyal, ADC Pawan Sharma, Col A. Mukherjee, SDE BSNL Vikas Bhatti and other senior officers.
The meeting was informed that candidates can register themselves through the website of Indian Army www.joinindianarmy.nic.in and only report as per schedule given for their respective areas. Candidates have been strictly instructed to come alone and not bring any relatives and friends with them.
It was also informed that minimum age required for participating in the recruitment rally is 17 and half years and maximum 23 years. For soldier general duty maximum age is 21 years. DDC asked army authorities to ensure that rallies are conducted peacefully and without any untoward incident. She also appealed the general public to avoid falling prey to touts and compete in a fair and transparent manner.
