SRINAGAR: Army on Thursday paid tributes to Late Paratrooper (Ptr) Mukut Bihari Meena who made the supreme sacrifice during Counter Terrorist Operations on 11 July 2018 in Kupwara district, wherein one terrorist was eliminated.
In a solemn ceremony at BB Cantonment, Lt Gen A.K Bhatt, Chinar Corps Commander and all ranks, paid homage to the Martyr on behalf of a proud nation. In a show of solidarity, representatives from other security agencies also joined in to pay their last respects to the Martyr.
Late Ptr Mukut Bihari Meena sustained bullet injury during the fierce operation at Menganwar in Kandi forests of Kupwara District. He was provided immediate first aid and evacuated to the hospital, but unfortunately succumbed to his injuries.
The Martyr was 24 years old and had joined the army in 2011. He belonged to village Ladaniya of Khanpur Tehsil in Jhalawar District, Rajasthan and is survived by his wife and parents.
The mortal remains of the Martyr were flown for last rites to his native place, where he would be laid to rest with full military honours. In this hour of grief, the army stands in solidarity with the bereaved family of the Martyr and remains committed to their dignity and well being.
