BHADARWAH: To know the aspirations, expectations and thought process of all the stakeholders especially students regarding the future prospects of their area, Rashtriya Rifles (RR) in collaboration with Bhadarwah Campus organised a day long public speaking competition on the topic ‘A Perspective Vision – Chenab Region – 2030’ on Monday.
The programme in which students from different colleges of Chenab Valley participated and was aimed at to motivate the students to express their views regarding the future prospects of their area in the given circumstances was held at Bhadarwah Campus.
On the occasion Commander 4 Sector RR, Rohit Nautiyal was the Chief Guest and Rector G.M Bhatt was the Guest of Honour, while CO RR presided over the function.
While expressing their views regarding the future of Chenab Valley, students besides criticising the successive government for their indifferent attitude towards Chenab region, aspired to be a part of incredible India.
Speaking on the occasion, Brig Rohit Nautiyal said that despite Chenab region being the center piece of Jammu and Kashmir is a bit neglected, by design or by deliberate actions and the biggest setback is lack of infrastructure and low literacy rate but the things are changing for the good at a brisk pace especially in the road connectivity, tourism and education sector. If the youth will stay away from the drugs, Chenab region surely has a bright future ahead.
While thanking the Indian Army for giving the students a platform to express their hopes, aspirations and even fears, Rector Bhadarwah University Campus, Prof G.M.Bhat said that the need of the hour is to strengthen our educational system in Chenab Valley, which deserves a separate university and we are hopeful that the cluster university will be established at Bhadarwah soon.
In the public speaking competition Nazish Wani of GDC Doda, Kibriya Fatima and Fariha Rasool of PG College Bhadarwah were declared first, second and third respectively.
At the end of the programme, RR donated 600 valuable books of reputed writers of Penguin Publishing House to the library of the campus.
