THANNAMANDI: Army organised carom and chess competitions at Government Girls Higher Secondary School, Thannamandi on Thursday.
“The competition was aimed at providing a platform to the young students to showcase their abilities and skills,” Defence Spokesperson, Lt Col Devender Anand said adding that the event saw overwhelming response in which players participated in various age categories.
The winners and runners-up were suitably awarded.
The parents and teachers, Lt Col Anand said, appreciated the efforts made by the army and said that the conduct of such events for young students immensely help in all round development of students.
