STATE TIMES NEWSNAGROTA: Indian Army conducted Afforestation Drive at Nagrota Military Station aimed at increasing the green cover in the area and spreading awareness amongst participants to include army personnel and their families about importance of saving the environment. The plantation drive was also aimed at sensitizing the participants about their social and environmental responsibility to make our planet green and clean. Large number of fruit, shade bearing and ornamental trees were planted during the event. The programme also included discussion on putting focused efforts for afforestation of degraded areas and adopting best wildlife management in the Military Station. On the occasion, audience was also educated on the importance of planting trees to keep the environment clean so that carbon imprints remain under control. The audience also took a pledge to conserve the flora and fauna in the station for benefit of future generations. The audience was also encouraged to contribute more towards preserving environment and sharing their ideas and activities for making the world cleaner and greener place.
