POONCH: Indian Army organised multiple events for the youth to commemorate National Youth Day on the occasion of 156th Birth Anniversary of ‘Swami Vivekananda’ on Saturday at Mendhar and Jhullas in Poonch District. The multifarious activities were organised for youth to imbibe teachings of Swami Vivekananda in becoming a motivated and responsible citizen of the country.
On the occasion, a variety of activities to include motivational lectures, volleyball matches, mini marathon, youth meeting were organised at Youth Centre, Surankote, Mendhar and Jhulas. The participants displayed great enthusiasm and vigor while thoroughly attending the functions.
A total of 67 persons and youth participated in the event with great enthusiasm. The youth and local populace appreciated the efforts of the army in organising such activities which generated feeling of goodwill amongst the civil population, especially the youth.
