JAMMU: Army Public School (APS) Damana participated in the fifth I-Parliament Session which was held at Jawahar Bhavan in New Delhi.
I -Parliament is a movement that brings youth together from all sections of society to debate and articulate their thoughts on critical issues that affect our future. It was a proud moment for Army Public School Damana for being the only school from the State of J&K which participated in the event.
The school team comprised of six students from Class XII namely Anam Sadhotra, Aprajita, Prarna Koul, Shivani Gorkha, Aditi Choudhary and Sourab Chhetri along with two teachers Jahangir Ahmad, PGT (Political Science) and Sangeeta Sehgal, TGT (Social Science) participated in the event.
They debated and discussed various issues of national and international importance.
Students interacted with important parliamentarians who include Dr Shashi Tharoor, MP from Thiruvananthapuram, Jyotiraditya Madavrao Scindia, MP from Guna Constituency of MP, Malvika Singh, Publisher of Seminar, a prestigious monthly magazine of ideas and alternatives, founded in 1959 and a columnist for telegraph, Manish Tewari MP from Ludhiana, Gaurav Gogoi, MP from Kaliabor Constituency in Assam.
The school team’s efforts and attempts were appreciated by Dr. Renu Gupta, Principal of the School.
While giving away certificates to the participating team, she encouraged and guided them for their contribution in the grand success of the event and also thanked the school management for allowing the students to participate.
