Raju and Deputy Excise Commissioner Executive Jammu Amarjeet Singh under Supervision of V.S Pawar ETO and Inspector Mohd Arif, a drug rally was held in Poonch on International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking. Theme of this year’s rally was ‘Justice for Health, Health for Justice’. Rally was attended by civil society members in large numbers. Bike rally was organised Youth Association for Service of Humanity and Nation (YASHN) starts from Government degree college Poonch via Chandak, Kalai, Kahnetar and culminated at College ground. On the occasion posters were distributed to spread the awareness among masses. MENDHAR: Administration of Sub division Mendhar in collaboration with Higher Secondary School Boys Mendhar organized an anti-drug rally in Mendhar town. The rally, which was attended by huge number of students SDM Mendhar Sahil Jandyal urged the participants to pledge to work wholeheartedly against the menace of drug addiction. Principal HSS Mendhar Mohd Alam Khan , SDPO Mendhar Neeraj Padyar, SHO Mendhar Dsp Sajjad Mir and staff members of the HSS Mendhar were also present. RAJOURI: In order to mark international day against drug abuse and illicit trafficking and to make people aware about the menace of addiction among youth, police organised a series of events across Rajouri district on Wednesday.
These programmes were held under the supervision of Additional SP Rajouri Liyaqit Ali and Additional SP Nowshera GL Sharma and under the overall supervision of SSP Rajouri Yougal Manhas covering all the parts of the district. In Budhal, a debate competition on ‘ill effects of drugs addiction’ was held at Budhal Higher Secondary School in which Judicial Magistrate Shafeeq Ahmed, Additional SP Rajouri Liyaqit Ali, Dr. Ranjan from army unit, Station House Officer Budhal Sanjay Raina, Naib Tehsildar Budhal, school principal and a number of civil society members were present while a large number of school students were also present. In Sunderbani, an awareness programme on drugs addiction and illicit trafficking was held at Sunderbani court complex in which prosecuting officer Yuvraj Singh among a number of advocates were present. A seminar on the said theme was also held at higher secondary school Manjakote in which Tehsildar Manjakote Sageer Chowdhary, SDPO Manjakote Nisar Khoja, SHO Manjakote Manzoor Kohli and a number of other officials and civil society members besides school students were present.
An awareness rally on ‘drugs abuse’ was earlier taken out in Manjakote area in which participants spread awareness against the menace. In Government Higher Secondary School Solki, an awareness programme was held for students and locals which was chaired by SHO Dharamsal Amit Singh along with other officials and civil society members. An awareness rally against ‘drugs abuse and illicit trafficking’ was also taken out in Kotranka by police in collaboration with staff from District Institute of Education and Training Rajouri. Students from higher secondary school Kandi Kotranka and civil society members took part in the rally holding placards against the menace. An awareness programme was also held at Himalayan Education Mission School in Rajouri in which DySP HQrs Rajouri Govind Rattan, SHO Rajouri Ajaz Haider, DySP (Prob.) Dr. Ishan Gupta and Incharge Police Post Rajouri city, SI Suresh Sharma were present while school staff and students were present. In Thannamandi, an awareness rally was held at tehsil headquarter in which Sub Divisional Magistrate Thannamandi, Dr. Tanveer Khan, Sub Divisional Police Officer Thanamandi, Mohammad Sidiq, Tehsildar Thannamandi Anjum Khan, Station House Officer Javed Malik and civil society members and a large number of students from education institutions were present. An awareness programme headed by Station House Officer Sunderbani Naveen Angral was also held in which students from educational institutions of the area took part. A talk was delivered to the students and other participants in a similar program at ITI Rajouri by SSP Rajouri Yougal Manhas in presence of DC Rajouri Mohd Aijaz Asad who chaired the programme and also launched bhang destruction derive. Army also organised awareness lectures on the occasion of International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking at Marhot, Chhaala, Islampur, Pir Panjal Super School, Dhangri (Phardala) and Youth Centre, Palma in Poonch and Rajouri districts. The District Child Protection Unit Rajouri and National Progressive Youth Organisation, NPYO Observed International Day against Drug abuse and Illicit Trafficking at the premises of Panorama Hr.Sec.School ,Rajouri. During the interactive programme need of collective efforts against drug menace in District Rajouri was focused which is ruining lives of thousands of youth. The Child Protection team comprising LCPO Shivangi Kant, Rubina kouser, PONIC and Aadil Majeed lone Counsellor shared their valuable views and apprised the young ones regarding different helpline numbers ,the modus operandi to tackle harrassment ,the way outs for the councelling of those who got diverted and different laws and statues. Vikrant Sharma, Chief Resource Person NPYO stressed that situation with reference to drug abuse menace in Rajouri is alarming and now this is a high time to have a positive collaborative move from all stakeholders to counter strongly against this menance. Meanwhile students also shared their views and experiences during the session. The whole programme was organised by Soonam Sharma, General secretary NPYO and Zakir Hussain ,Senior faculty Panorama Hr.Sec.School ,Rajouri. RAMBAN: On International Day of Drug Abuse, District Police Ramban organized Rallies at Ramban, Banihal and Gool. The rally was flagged off by SSP Ramban from Govt. Hr Sec School Ramban & later concluded near Cafeteria. On International Day against drug abuse and illicit trafficking, Gool police took out a rally, creating awareness among public against the drugs. The police officers and personnel, led by SDPO Mohd Rafi Giri and SHO Nayeem Matoo under the supervision of ASP Sanjay Parihar and overall superviaion SSP Ramban Anita Sharma. As many as 500 students holding banners and placards, along with shouting slogans to shun drugs marched through the Gool market and Bus Stand in town. KATRA: GRP Katra organised Anti Drug and Illicit Trafficking Day in collaboration with NGO, Mashwara (JKSPYM) in the jurisdiction of GRP Katra.
On this occasion Ranjit Singh Sambyal, SSP, Railways Katra, alongwith SDPO Railways Katra, SHO P/S GRP Katra and other officers/officials of GRP Katra took a round of Katra Town in the departmental vehicle dully decorated with Anti-Drug Banners in order to inculcate awareness among common people, Young generation and prominent citizens with regard to anti drug abuse. Anti drug posters /banners have been displayed at many places like Railway Station, Bus Stand, Petrol Pump, near various Private/Govt. Schools, Main Chowks and main Road leading towards Banganga of the Katra Town. Anti drug pamphlets have also been circulated among local public as well as Yarties coming by trains at Railway Station Katra from different states of the country. REASI: Police organised an anti-drug rallies to make aware the public about use of illegal drugs and its ill effects. In Reai the rally started from near Bhimgarh Fort and while passing through Mahadev Crossing , Chowk Chabutra, Main Bazar Reasi, Bus Stand Reasi, culminated at Sports Stadium Reasi. The rally was organized under the supervision of Dr. Wasim Hamdani JKPS, Dy.SP-Hqrs. Reasi, and Shiv Kumar Singh Chouhan Addl. SP Reasi and assisted by Inspr. Ashwani Sharma SHO Police Station Reasi and under overall guidance and supervision of Smt. Nisha Nathyal JKPS, SSP Reasi. Kamlesh Pandita, District & Principal Sessions Judge, Reasi was the Chief Guest of occasion and flagged off the rally while Smt. Indu Kanwal Chib, Deputy Commissioner, Reasi acted as Guest of Honour. Large number of people from all walks of life including ward councilors, prominent citizens, students, educationalists, women folk and others participated in the rally. The play based on the dangers involved in drugs consumption and also in its trade. On the occasion Additional District Dev. Commissioner Reasi Romesh Chander was the chief guest. The show was witnessed by a large number of people from all walk of life, especially pilgrim of mata vaishno devi in presence of Ashok Kumar Choudary SDM Katra, Shashi Gupta Chairman MC Katra, Dr Umesh Shan ADT Katra, Shami kumar ARTO Reasi, Nirmal Choudary CEO Reasi, Ravi Nag Member MC Katra, B.K.Roy member MC Katra, and other officials from the District Reasi. The play was staged under the direction by M. Akram Khan. SAMBA: On International Day, District Police Samba organised a rally and seminar on drug abuse at Government Degree College Samba. A large number of youth from Samba town, members of People Forum for Human Values, District Legal Service Authority and District Health Department participated very enthusiastically in the function. The Rally was flagged off by Dr. Koshal Sharma, SSP Samba, Swati Gupta, Sub Judge, Chairperson District Legal Service Authroity, Sh. S.S .Sambyal, President Bar Association Samba, alongwith other officers of Police and Civil administration from town Hall Samba. It had a round of Samba town and culminated at Bus Stand Samba. After the Rally, a Seminar in Govt. Degree College Samba was organized by Samba Police with the co-operation of Degree College Samba. Principal GDC Samba, Dr. G.S Rakwal draw the attention of all the students and staff to widespread prevalence of drugs and its negative effect on mental and physical growth of body, social life and family life. More than 20 students share their views on the burning issue of Drug Abuse in the Seminar. Dr. Suman, DHO Samba also spoke on the adverse effects of the drugs on the health of addicts. In the last, a Prize Distribution Ceremony was also held by the District Police Samba in which the certificates were given to the participants/students. Faisel Shah Qureshi, Addl. SP Samba & Sh. JAGANOO: Awareness programme on International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking , observed at Hr. Sec. School Jaganoo under the supervision of Associate NCC Officer Narinder Raina. Medical Officer Dr. Roopali Gupta from PHC Jaganoo was the Chief Guest. Third Officer Narinder Raina, Sr. lecturer Vijay Gupta, NCC cadets of Sr Division ,Sr. Assistant Rajesh, Jr. Assistant Ashish were also present. BHADARWAH: Police organised a debate competition at Bhadarwah on Wednesday in which the ill impacts of drugs were highlighted. The event, in which students from 11 government and private schools of Bhadarwah participated, was organised by ASP Bhadarwah Raj Singh Gouria and SDPO Bhadarwah Adil Rishu under the supervision of SSP Doda Shabir Ahmed Malik. On the occasion, ADC Bhadarwah Ravi Kumar Bharti was the chief guest and Sub Judge Bhadarwah Susheel Singh was the guest of honour, while Educationist Arif Rana conducted the proceedings of the event. Sub Judge Bhadarwah Susheel Singh, Assistant Commandment 33 Battalion CRPF, Varun Kumar Vaid and senior Journalist Tahir Nadeem Khan Yusafzai were the jury members for debate competition. In the debate competition, Mohd Rizwan of Green Model Academy Bhadarwah adjudged 1st position, while Khawahish Malik of Radiant Academy Bhadarwah and Radhika Raina of Saraswati Memorial Public School Bhadarwah got 2nd and 3rd positions respectively, Winners were given trophy and certificates by the chief guest and other dignitaries present there. Beside all participants were also presented with certificates. Prominent among those who were present include SHO Bhadarwah Ghulam Hassan Kamal, Principal Annie Kotwal and Shabnam Nigar, Sudesh Manhas, Rana Arif and others. The event concluded with a vote of thanks by SDPO Adil Rishu. R S PURA: 2 J&K Girl Bn NCC of GDC, R.S. Pura organised a Poster Making Competition under the guidance of Principal of the College Dr. Sunita Sudan and supervision of Lt. Shaveta Chowdhary, ANO. The event was organized to observe 26th June as “International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking”. The NCC cadets made informative posters to create awareness about side effects related to negative use of Drugs. The cadets also took pledge to make R.S. Pura a Drugs-free Zone so that the youth are motivated to resist drugs and breathe a drug free life. BANIHAL: Govt. Degree College Banihal organized “International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking”. A rally of about 100 students along with staff members displaying placards was organised covering main town Banihal. A seminar was also organised in the college campus wherein various students participated in speeches relating to the theme”Health for Justice, Justice for Health”. On the occasion, the Principal GDC Banihal exhorted upon the students to create awareness regarding the prevention of usage of drugs in the society. Deepak Kumar (PTI) of this college organized the function and the key note was presented by Dr. Shafiq Ahmed Katoch (AP Urdu) and finally the programme concluded with an inspiring speech and vote of thanks Dr. Khursheed Alam. DODA: Government Higher Secondary School Halaran, Doda, observed the International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit trafficking throughout the day, staff and students made the general masses aware regarding the evils of the drugs on their children and society and distributed pamphlets/ posters containing anti-drug themes. Principal of School Vinod Bhat briefed Students & Public about the importance of celebrating the day. KATHUA: International Day against Drug Abuse and illicit trafficking was observed in Govt. HSS Parnalla Distt. Kathua under the chairmanship of Principal Kamlesh Bhagat. The students of class 9th and 10th attending summer coaching classes from various schools i.e. from Govt. HSS Parnalla, Govt. HSS Pallan, Govt. Hs Mooni, Sacred Heart Convent School Phinter, Krishna public School Parnalla, participated in the programme. The prominent persons of locality also remained present. The teachers deployed in summer Tutorial, Rattan Chand, Karna Singh, Bishan Singh and Vinay Gupta organised the programme. Police conducted series of anti drug rallies and organized drug awareness programs in District Kathua on International Day on Drug abuse and illicit trafficking to spread mass awareness among public especially the youth. Ramnish Gupta, Addl SP Kathua flagged off two anti drug rallies at Lakhanpur and Kathua in which Nikhil Rasgotra, Dy.SP Headquarters Kathua , K.D. Bhagat Dy.SP DAR Kathua , officers of District Police and paramilitary security forces , members of Municipal committee Lakhanpur and Kathua and prominent citizens Participated in the rallies at Lakhanpur and Kathua. Both the rallies witnessed mass participation of People especially youths. Besides, Kathua Police also organized awareness program on drug abuse in collaboration with District Legal Services authority (DLSA) Kathua. Arti Mohan Secretary Legal Services authority (Sub-Judge) Kathua, Addl SP Kathua, Ghansham Singh ADC Kathua , team of Doctors from District Hospital Kathua and others officers were present in the programme. Another drug awareness program was organized by Kathua Police in Village Bandhore Rajbagh.On the occasion , Addl SP Kathua was the chief guest along with SDPO border and incharge PP Marheen . KISHTWAR: Police organised an anti-drug district level debate contest at the Hall of Degree College Kishtwar. Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar Angrez Singh Rana was the chief guest. The Jury for the debate contest included Faisal Mushtaq Kichloo, Out of the 12 contestants, 7 were the girl and 05 male students took part in the debate. Those who attained first, second & third positions. Those who attended the district level debate contest included CO 52 Bn CRPF Dy SP Headquarters Kishtwar, Sunny Gupta, Dy SP DAR Kishtwar Shri Iftikhar Ahmed and other Police officers, , teachers of various institutions. UDHAMPUR: On the eve of ‘International Day against drug abuse and illicit trafficking’, Udhampur police took out a rally, creating awareness among general public against the drugs. The rally was flagged off by Rajiv Pandey SSP Udhampur from District Police Headquarter Udhampur in the presence of Dr. Rohit Chadgal Dy.SP Hqrs. Udhampur, Insp. Vijay Singh Choudhary SHO PS Udhampur and other officers/ officials of District police Udhampur holding banners and marched through the Gole market and Dhar Road in Udhampur town.
