STATE TIMES NEWS JAMMU: To commemorate Al-Quds Day for expressing solidarity with oppressed Palestinians, Anjuman-e-Imamia Jammu held a peaceful protest on last Friday of Ramzan-ul-Mubarak at Karbala complex in Jammu. In view of advisories issued by the government to contain COVID-19 pandemic, all set norms and guidelines were followed in letter & spirit during protest. Pertinent to mention here that Al Quds Day is observed by all Muslims on last Friday of Ramzan-ul-Mubarak across the globe to show sympathy and solidarity with Palestinians, declared in 1979 by Imam Khomeini, as a day to raise voice against the oppressor. Speaking on the occasion, Prof Sujat Khan said, “The protest is not mandatory for all Muslims but anyone, who wants to raise voice against atrocities, can join the protest.” He further said that due to outbreak of COVID-19 pandemic, Syed Ali Khamenei has urged for at least waiving flag of Palestine to show solidarity with oppressed nation besides raising voice against oppressors like America and Israel.
