JAMMU: A joint delegation of All India Kashmiri Samaj (AIKS), Jammu Kashmir Nationalist Movement (JKNM) and Kashmiri Hindu Conference (KHC) met Relief Commissioner (Migrants), M.L Raina and apprised him of the problems being faced by the displaced community.
The delegation represented by Vijay Kashkari, Convener AIKS, S.K Koul General Secretary JKNM, P.L Koul Budgami, Convener KHS and K.L Ganjoo, Vice President KHS. The delegation was expressed their dismay to the Relief Commissioner, on the insensitive working of the officials of the Relief Organisation.
The problems of the displaced community, pertaining to day to day living, in particular relief, ration, bifurcation, addition and deletion of the members in registration records and issuance of State Subject Certificates were discussed. Emphasis was put on providing cash in lieu of ration as the quality ration was not provided to the displaced community. The delegation also pleaded for the employees, employed under PM Package.
The Relief Commissioner was apprised about their problems at the place of postings. RC (M) was asked to address their problems with the perception of current situation of the Valley.
The Relief Commissioner gave a patient hearing and assured the delegation that what was under his delegation of powers will be addressed and other petitions forwarded to the authorities to frame a policy to the benefits of the displaced community.
