STATE TIMES NEWS JAMMU: All India Backward Classes Union (AIBCU) on Friday welcomed the Supreme Court’s order on decriminalisation of politics, saying that it will go a long way in setting new moral yardsticks for improving electoral democracy. In a meeting held here on Friday, Abdul Majid Malik, President of the Union said that implementation responsibility of the order should be put on the Chief Election Commission of India and any non-compliance of Apex Court’s order should be considered as Apex Court’s contempt, for which the Chief Election Commission of India should be responsible. “With this order, there will be free and fair elections in the country as well as in States,” said AIBCU President and appealed to the Chief Justice of India to make all political parties bound to implement the same in manifesto too, which is released before polling.
