JAMMU: The Department of Agriculture, Zone Sidhra, organised a camp on distribution of soil health cards and awareness regarding Pradhan Mantri Fasal Beema Yojana (PMFBY) at village Parhoon here on Monday. The camp was held under the supervision of S.C Sharma Sub-Divisional Agricultural Officer, Dansal Jammu.
A large number of farmers from the village participated in the camp.
Masood Choudhary, Agricultural Extension Officer, Sidhra Zone spoke about the benefits of PMFBY and made them aware how scheme can be availed by loanee and non loanee farmers and how they get full benefits of this Centre Sponsored Schemes to improve their socio-economic condition before 31st July 2017 which is the last date for filing premium for Kharief crops.
Inderpal Singh Tegh, VAEA of the area delivered lecture on fertilisers dose of different crop.
Besides large number of farmers social activists, Kartar Singh and Naseeb Singh also motivated the farmers regarding aforesaid department schemes.
