BILLAWAR: Demanding creation of Billawar District, Billawar Zila Sangarsh Committee decided to reach each and every resident of Billawar and its peripherals so that the agitation for the district status is accelerated.
Addressing the press conference, Committee members Manoj Gupta, Jagdeev Singh Sarpanch, Ranjeet Singh, Kishan Chand, Sewa Singh, Satish Sharma, Darshan Kumar and Kaku Raina said that Sub Division Billawar has sufficient grounds and merits to fulfill all the requirements to establish full-fledged district. They said that there are six Tehsils, eight blocks, fifteen Niabats adjoining to centrally located Billawar Sub Division Headquarter and keeping in view the population, geographical area and distance from exiting district Kathua, Billawar has enough ground to be a district.
Manoj Gupta said that the BJP-PDP Government and DyCM Dr Nirmal Kumar Singh are totally working against the interest of Billawar. The people of Billawar feel cheated and betrayed by the BJP and Dy CM Nirmal Kumar Singh who is trying to shift some important offices from Billawar to Basholi to create strong base for district, Manoj added.
