STATE TIMES NEWSUDHAMPUR: The District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), Udhampur on Wednesday in the second leg, of the ‘Ageing with Dignity Campaign’, held a painting and slogan writing competition on the title, ‘Sensitizing Program on Fostering Intergenerational Bonding’, for the students of all Government Schools falling in winter zone of Udhampur District at Higher Secandary School Sewna in Block Narsoo . Programme was as an endeavor to strengthen the integration between generations and to facilitate interaction between the students and youth about the various hardships being faced by the elderly people and ways & methods in mitigating them, under the Chairmanship of Mohan Lal Manhas Chairman, District Legal Services Authority (Pr. District & Sessions Judge) Udhampur and under the overall supervision of Mrs Sandeep Kour , Secretary, District Legal Services Authority, Udhampur . The painting and slogan writing competition Programme was attended by a number of Senior Citizens of the adjoining areas of the school and the grandparents of the student, of the school. Prizes were also distributed among students .POONCH: As part of the campaign on “Ageing with Dignity on World Elder Abuse Awareness Day”, the District Legal Services Authority organised an awareness camp under the supervision of Chairman DLSA Madan Lal (Principal District & Sessions Judge). Secretary DLSA, Javed Rana Hakla, CJM Poonch, Som Lal, BDO Mandi, Subash Chander, Cultural Officer Sub-Office Rajouri Dr. Alamdhar Shah, District Social Welfare Officer besides locals, senior citizens and students from Mandi and adjoining areas were present on the occasion. The Sub-Office of Cultural Academy Rajouri presented cultural programme. SAMBA: District Legal Service Authority, Samba today organised a sensitization program on “Safety and Security of Senior Citizen” as part of ‘World Elder Abuse Awareness Day ‘ for creating awareness with regard to “Ageing with Dignity Campaign”. The event was aimed at to sensitize the Police personals of the district regarding the special psycho social needs of senior citizens besides elder abuse. On the occasion, Secretary DLSA, Swati Gupta, sensitized the target group regarding the challenges being faced by senior citizens through a power point presentation. Additional Munsiff Samba, Jyoti Bhagat, was also present on the occasion.
KISHTWAR: District Legal Services Authority Kishtwar in collaboration with District Administration today conducted district level consultative meet on “Ageing with Dignity” being held in connection with “World Elder Abuse Awareness Day”. The consultative meet was organized as per the schedule issued by Secretary District Legal Services Authority Kishtwar Munish K. Manhas (Munsif/JMIC Kishtwar) under the guidance of Incharge Chairman, District Legal Services Authority Kishtwar. The meet was presided over by Additional District Development Commissioner Kishtwar Mohd Hanief Malik. Other officers and officials present on the occasion were Dr. Mohd Yaqoob Mir, Deputy CMO Kishtwar, S. D. Atri, Medical Superintendent Kishtwar, Horticulture Development Officer, Tehsil Social Welfare Officers Kishtwar & Marwah ICDS Officials of Kishtwar, officials of Mahila Shakti Kendra Kishtwar, J&K Bank Manager besides PLVs of DLSA Kishtwar were also present.
