Central government working under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi is taking no chances as far as threat of coronavirus contagion is concerned and doing whatever is possible to ensure foolproof implementation of 21 days long lockdown. One can gauge the seriousness of the situation by looking into the fact that prime minister on Thursday held a meeting with the heads of all states and union territories in the presence of Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and Home Minister Amit Shah besides top bureaucrats of the country, second in last few days to discuss all the significant issues related to coronavirus and its impact. While discussing each and every detail regarding the COVID-19 and chalking out further plans to contain its spread one thing should also be taken into account with complete seriousness that when the lockdown period will culminate how the people should act and when the services which have been halted shall be allowed to start functioning again. It is very critical issue and should be discussed point by point to ensure that the moment restrictions are lifted the people should not come out and horde at public places thus marring the whole exercise of lockdown because the virus Corona spreads exponentially and negligence of any sort can again deteriorate the situation. It is quite important that authorities should workout complete schedule to restore liberty to citizens and decide when the services like public transport, shops, parks, malls, restaurants etc shall be allowed to cater to the needs of people. Similarly, the educational institutions’ normal working should also be allowed after thoroughly considering the pros and cons as the small mistake at that point of time can prove hazardous and lead to failure of the whole exercise of lockdown. Roping in experts to make a fail-safe plan to restore the normal life across the nation is a significant move and work on the same is required to be started soon as already country is at the halfway of the lockdown. Looking into the behaviour of people at the end of Janata Curfew on March 22, 2020, it is quite imperative that awareness should be imparted to educate them to maintain social distancing as long as possible to ensure complete elimination of coronavirus.
