SPORTS REPORTER JAMMU: First class cricketer from Kashmir, who once attended India camp and was part of the ICL, has criticised in strong words the captain, Parvez Rasool and selector Shahid Parvez for being biased while selecting the J&K team for the Sayed Mushtaq Ali Twenty20 Trophy. After sidelining Jammu’s talented cricketer, Ian Dev Singh, Parvez Rasool allegedly in connivance with selector, Shahid Parvez kept him out of the 16-member team that left for the venue yesterday. “I have been ignored despite my utmost fitness and performance in the trial matches both in batting and bowling departments. Parvez has turned bias and has picked a couple of his favourite boys in the team without considering the performance. I’m only batsman, who made a half century (65 off 30 balls) that too after being asked deliberately to bat at No. 7. I have also taken five wickets,” said Abid Nabi. Adding he said, “So much so, one Adil Reshi was included in the team making it 16th player despite the fact that he was not part of the camp and trial matches”. Meanwhile, as per the schedule, J&K shall take on Nagaland in their opener at Chukkapalli Pitchaiah Cricket Ground, Mulapadu. A day later, on February 22, J&K shall meet Jharkhand at the same venue. On February 24 J&K will be playing against Delhi at Chukkapalli Pitchaiah Cricket Ground, Mulapadu. In their fourth outing, J&K shall meet Andhra Pradesh on February 25 at Devineni Venkata Ramana Praneetha ground, Mulapadu. The fifth game, on February 27, shall be against Kerela while in their sixth match, J&K shall be playing against Manipur on February 28. Meanwhile, the selectors picked up only six boys out of a squad of 16 from Jammu giving the region poor representation in the State team. The Team: Shubam Khajuria, Adil Reshi, Parvez Rasool, Irfan Pathan, Suryansh Raina, Manzoor Pandav, Waseem Raza, Shubham Pundir, Bandeep Singh, Owais Shah, Jatin Wadhwan, Abdul Samad, Ram Dayal, Umar Nazir, Mustaba Yousuf and Sharukh Dar.
