JAMMU: Minister for Education, Naeem Akhtar said that under SSA, 7,23,258 students and under RMSA, 2,10,689 students have been benefited in the State.
The minister while replying to a question by Ghulam Nabi Monga in the Legislative Council informed that already an expert panel has been constituted to formulate education policy for school system in J and K.
The minister said that Jammu and Kashmir School Education Act, 2002 is applicable throughout the State of Jammu and Kashmir. However, the act is under review to augment the spread and scope of the State law in perspective of the Central Act of right of children to Free and Compulsory Education (RTE) Act, 2009.
Ali Mohammad Dar, Surinder Kumar Choudhary, Ghulam Qadir Pardesi, Dr. Shahnaz Ganai, Showkat Hussain, Vibodh Gupta and Haji Anayat Ali raised supplementaries to the main question.
