STATE TIMES NEWs Jammu: At least seven persons were killed and two others injured on Sunday when a vehicle rolled down into a 200-feet deep gorge in Rajouri district, police said. Accident took place in evening hours of Sunday when a tempo (JK02AU 8910) on way to Reasi Chassana from Rajouri plunged in a 600 feet deep gorge at Kewal Morh village. Locals and police team headed by SHO Budhal Sanjay Raina rushed to the spot and rescue operation was launched in which locals played an important role and seven persons were removed and shifted to Kandi CHC in injured condition. Two persons were found dead on the spot while the driver of the vehicle and five others succumbed to injuries on way to a hospital, the official said. The two injured were evacuated from the accident site and shifted to the hospital, he added. Deceased have been identified as Kulwant Singh, son of Sukhdev Singh, resident of Kangota Budhal; Mohammad Taj, son of Mohammad Hussain, resident of Topa Mendhar; Abdul Rashid, son of Mohammad Iqbal, resident of Darhal; Sunit Singh, son of Chitar Singh, resident of Tuli Reasi, his wife Kailash Devi, resident of Tuli Reasi; Mohammad Manzoor, son of Mohammad Din, resident of Rajnagar Budhal and Mohammad Farooq, son of Mohammad Rashid, resident of Tuli Reasi. Two injured are under treatment in Rajouri hospital which have been identified as Mohammad Azam and Mohammad Shakeel.
