POONCH: 65,011 households including 48,903 approved in Baseline Survey have been provided with individual latrine facilities under Swach Bharat Mission with 93.88 per cent overall coverage in the district. The District Development Commissioner was informed on Wednesday in a meeting held to review the progress under Swach Bharat Mission (G).
It was informed that 4,899 IHHL units in Balakote, 6,172 in Bufliaz, 5,751 in Lasssana, 3,983 in Loran, 6,522 in Mandi, 4,145 in Mankote and 7,621 IHHL units in Mendhar blocks have been constructed whereas in Nangali Sahib Sain Baba, Poonch, Sathra and Surankote blocks 4,512, 8,130, 4,713 and 8,563 IHHL units have been constructed respectively.
It was further given out that of 189 Panchayats in the district 114 Panchayats have achieved absolute coverage. These included seven in Balakote, six in Bufliaz, nine in Lasana, four in Loran, 11 in Mandi, 10 in Mankote, 22 in Mendhar, nine in NSSB, eight in Poonch, 10 in Sathra and 18 in Surankote.
Furthermore, 93.88 per cent updation of data including uploading of photographs on Management Information System and 54.22 per cent Geo-tagging has been completed.
The DDC directed the concerned to cover remaining 1054 households as per baseline survey. He further directed interdepartmental inspection teams constituted by administration at block levels to expedite the process of physical verification of the IHHL units strictly as per laid down parameters of government so that the Panchayats can be declared ODF.
He also directed for expediting geo-tagging and updation of data of constructed IHHLs on MIS .
The DDC appreciated DPO, BDOs, VLWs and GRS for their record performance during last two months wherein 29000 IHHL units have been constructed against a target of 10000. The district is well on the track to be declared ODF by first week of July.
ADDC Abdul Hamid, ACD Mukhtaar Ahmad, DPO Mazahir Hussain Shah, BDOs Ashiq Hussain, Qadeer Ahmad, Mohd Naseem, Mukhlis Qureshi, all CDPOs and ZEOs who are members of inspection teams attended the meeting.
