STATE TIMES NEWS JAMMU: The 621st Prakash Diwas of Sadguru Kabir Das Maharaj was celebrated with religious fervour here on Monday. In this connection, All J&K Megh Sabha, Old Rehari organised a function here in which former Minister Sat Sharma (CA) was the Chief Guest while Mayor JMC Chander Mohan Gupta was the Guest of Honor. Corporators Suneet Raina, Dr Akshay Sharma and Sham Lal Bassan; President Megh Sabha, Bihari Lal Bhagat and General Secretary Megh Sabha, Narinder Dutt were also present. The function started with Shobha Yatra which was taken out from Rehari Chungi and culminated at Kabir Temple in Old Rehari. Mahant Ajay Das delivered sermons in which he shed light on the life of Sant Kabir Das and how he is still a source of inspiration for all humanity. Addressing the gathering, Sat Sharma said that Sant Kabir Das gave the message of unity and we are all one, not only of India but above all caste and caste in the whole world. He also said that Sant Kabir Das was a great poet, saint and social reformer of India and his writings greatly influenced the Bhakti movement. Mayor JMC Chander Mohan on the occasion said that the teachings of Sant Kabir have greatly influenced in uniting all sections of society and should inspire the people to lead a life of purity and righteousness. He expressed hope that this occasion brings peace and prosperity in the state. Ex Corporator Narsingh Das Rajwal, Bawa Sharma, Dr Jeet Raj Bajala, Chaman Lal Bhagat, Krishan Lal, Sat Pal, Jeet Raj, MR Puri, Sham Lal, Amarnath, Sansar Chand and Manohar Lal Bhagat were also present on the occasion.
Meanwhile, Bhagat Mahasabha J&K unit organised a State level function for celebration of 621st Prakash Utsav of Sant Kabir at Abhinav Theatre Jammu. Follower and devotees of Sant Kabir from different parts of Jammu and Kashmir and from North India states like Punjab, Himachal Pradesh and Haryana participated to pay homage to great Sant of Bakhti Movement. People from the different areas reached at the venue in the shape of Jhankis by chanting slogan and Bhajan of Sant Kabir. The programme started with garlanding the portrait of Kabir ji followed by Satsang and Kirtan by Swami Milkhi Ram Bhagat Gorday Walay and Bhai Harmeet Singh. Raj Kumar Bhagat, Retired Commissioner Secretary and Pawan Bhagat State Chairman joined hands with J&K Bhagat Maha Sabha to handover the trophies to meritorious students. Prop Raj Kumar Bhagat National President Bhagat Mahasabha highlighted the achievements of the Sabha. Bodh Raj Bhagat National Vice President Bhagat Mahasabha demanded Gazetted holiday on Kabir Jayanti in J&K. Mahinder Bhagat State President appealed to the Governor for restoration of reservation in promotions in J&K.
Jai Bhagat State Coordinator, Tarsem Bhagat, Darshan Lal Bhagat, Sunesh Bhagat and Dr Naresh Bhagat were also present. Welfare Committee Satguru Kabir Bhawan, Dhaterial, Block Marh celebrated the Parkash Diwas of Sant Kabir Sahib, in a function held at Dhaterial, Marh here. On the occasion, former Minister Ajay Sadhotra was the Chief Guest. Sadhotra paid tributes to Sant Kabir and said the teachings of Sant Kabir of oneness are the keys to strengthen the country. He appealed to the Prime Minister, who is luckily representing Varanasi (Kashi), for making a full-fledged Research Centre to carry out research the life history and teachings of Sant Kabir. Among those who were present include Th Rashpal Singh Ex-MLA, Rattan Lal Gupta Ex-MLC, Kashmir Singh Ex-MLC, Bhagat Charandass, Chairman of the Welfare Committee, Dev Raj Bhagat President of the Committee and Kuldeep Raj Bhagat, General Secretary of the Committee.
Kabir Jayanti was celebrated with great enthusiasm at Jhiri by the Kabir Kalyan Kendra Jhiri, Marh. On the occasion, former Minister Mula Ram was also present. Mula Ram asked the people to remain united in future for the proper development of the community. He asked people to follow footsteps of Guru Kabir. Ram Ditta, Tara Chand, Madan Lal, Shamsher, Raju, Kuldeep Bhagat and Sohan Bhagat also spoke on the occasion. Guru Ka Langar was also served among the participants.
