jammu: To pay rich tributes to the great visionary and renowned engineer, Bharat Ratna Sir Mokshagundam Visyesvaraya, 48th Engineer’s Day was celebrated by students of Yogananda College of Engineering and Technology (YCET) with great enthusiasm and youthful exuberance.
An inter club debate competition on the topic ”Engineer’s Contribution to the nation building” was also conducted on the occasion.
Dr. Seema Narain, Director, YCET, was the Chief Guest and Er. B.R Verma, Dean Academics and R.S Dalpatias presided over the function.
Dr. Seema Narain, hailed Sir Mokshagundam Visyesvaraya as an illustrious personality, an international genius and great role model to the engineers, who contributed richly in science and technology. She called upon budding engineers to show insatiable appetite for continuous innovation and passionate learning and draw inspiration from Sir Mokshagundam Visyesvaraya.
Dr Narain thanked the faculty members for their wonderful efforts in shaping the career and destiny of next generation of engineers who are poised to take India to the next higher level and bring laurels to the nation.
In the inter-club debate competition, comprising teams from STEEL Club, Deptt of Civil Engg, GEAR Club, Deptt of Mechanical Engg, T-N-L Club, Deptt of Electrical Engg, and SWAT Club, Deptt of Computer Engg. Mahreen and Tarun Sharma representing Steel Club won the first and second position respectively.
Breathtaking cultural performances were also rendered by the students which hugely enthralled the audience.
The programme was coordinated by Thunder-N-Lighter Club, Department of Electrical Engineering and the vote of thanks was presented by Sakshi Sharma.
