KISHTWAR: A team of Municipal Committee under the supervision of Executive Officer conducted market inspection as a part of weeklong sanitation drive under Swachh Bharat Mission campaign.
During inspection, the team seized 4kg of polythene bags, besides, a fine of Rs. 1,400 was also compounded and realised from the defaulters on the spot.
Executive Officer appealed to the public to desist from using polythene bags as they are hazardous to human and animal lives. He further said that the Municipal Committee shall continue keeping a tight vigil on defaulters to check the menace of polythene and shall work towards declaring the town polythene free in near future.
