RAJOURI: Police on Friday busted an inter-district narcotic smuggling module by arresting three residents of Pulwama District and recovering two kilograms of Charas.
For random checking of vehicles, a team of Special Operation Group (SOG) of Rajouri Police headed by DySP PC (Operations) Sukhdev Singh under the supervision of Additional SP. Mohd Yousif laid a Naka in town and a car was signalled to stop but driver of the car speed and broke the Naka. Cops acting swiftly chased the vehicle and intercepted it at some distance and detained three men travelling in the car including its driver.
They included Riaz Ahmed Dar son of Mohd Shaban Dar resident of Kandzar, Shahid ul Islam son of Imtiaz Ahmed Mir resident of Rather Pura and Manzer Bashir son of Bashir Ahmed Tali resident of Ghath Mohallah District Pulwama. During frisking, police recovered impure Charas from them. A case vide FIR No 308/2018 under section 8/20/29 NDPS Act was registered at Police Station Rajouri.
The team headed by Govind Rattan, DySP Hqrs Rajouri under supervision of AdSP Rajouri Mohd Yousuf is investigating the case and questioning the arrested accused to unearth their local level links.
Meanwhile , a team of Police Post Hatli led by SI Verinder Singh during patrolling seized 1.6 kilograms Ganja in Sicop Lane Industrial Estate Hatli area from possession of Kuldeep Singh son of Sudershan Gill resident of Ward No 5 Dhariwal Gurdaspur at present Ward No. 14 Kathua. He was arrested and a case vide FIR no 208/18 under section 8/20 NDPS Act against him.
