STATE TIMES NEWS POONCH: A Vishal Nagar Kirtan was taken out ahead of 353rd Prakash Utsav of 10th Sikh Guru, Guru Gobind Singh Ji in the border town of Poonch on Friday. The devotees from Krishna Ghati, Dara Dullian, Jhallas, Deghwar and Khari Karmara reached Gurdwara Singh Sabha Poonch in the shape of Jathas from where the main Nagar Kirtan was taken out at 1:00 PM. The Panj Piyaras traditionally attired led the Nagar Kirtan, in which the Holy Guru Granth Sahib was kept in a well decorated vehicle. Number of Raagi Jathas including Bhai Harcharan Singh Khalsa, Bhai Rajinder Singh and Bhai Daljit Singh recited Gurbani Kirtan. The procession comprising thousands of people from all walks of life, stopped at Quila Bazaar where President DGPC Poonch Prof Narinder Singh and Parcharak Ravinder Singh threw light on the life history of Guru Gobind Singh Ji and the sacrifices of his family members. They repeated the views of Guru Ji who said that he has strengthened the foundation of Khalsa Panth (Akal Purakh Ki Fouj) which will save the humanity and human rights. The next stop of Nagar Kirtan was College Ground where youths displayed the martial art (Gatka). Number of stalls of hot drinks, sweets and other eatables were established. The procession then after passing through Nakhan Wali Road, Parade Ground and Bazaar culminated at Gurdwara Singh Sabha Poonch. Deputy Commissioner Poonch Rahul Yadav, SSP Romesh Kumar Angral, Councilor Advocate Rajinder Singh, Vice president GPC Surinder Singh Saraf, General Secretary Rajinder Singh, Joint Secretary Surjan Singh were also present in the Nagar Kirtan. Prof Narinder Singh thanked the administration, PDD, PHE, Health Department for their contributions during this celebrations.
