JAMMU: Police on Wednesday seized 35 kg of banned forest produce Nag Chhatri here at Manda.
During Naka checking at Manda, a police team led by Inspector Kuldeep Khajuria SHO Police Station Pacca Danga intercepted a Maruti Van (8048/JK03D) and recovered 35 kg Nag Chhatri from the possession of four persons travelling in the Van. They have been identified as Ashiq Hussain (Driver), Showket Khatana and Gulam Musatfa, all residents of Qazikund, and Bashir Ahmad, resident of Banihal.
Case FIR No. 152/15 under Sections 6, 15 and 16 of Forest Act 379 RPC has been registered and all four have been arrested. The Investigation has been taken up under the supervision of SDPO City P.S Parihar SP City Shiv Kumar Singh Chowhan and IC SSP Jammu Rajiv Pandey.
