STATE TIMES NEWS DODA: Spreading their drive to tight the noose of timber smugglers, Doda Police seized 10 timber scants, worth thousands, reportedly extracted from green cedar trees and were being smuggled in a tractor from Boliyan area of Tehsil Chiralla in District Doda on Friday. According to SDPO Bhadarwah Brijesh Sharma, acting on a specific information, a police party led by Incharge Police Post Karara ASI Mohd Sharif and SHO Thathri Viney Parihar laid a Naka at Boliyan area of Tehsil Chiralla and seized a tractor trolley (without registration number) along with 10 timber scants which were being illegally smuggled. Three smugglers were also arrested from the spot in this connection. The vehicle has been seized and the arrested smugglers have been identified as Neelam Singh Son of Kalyan Singh Resident of Pamassa, Mohd Anis Son of Mohd Ramzan and Riaz Ahmed son of Gul Mohd both residents of Gosti Chiralla. A case vide FIR No 27/2017 under section 379 RPC and 6 Forest Act was registered at Police Station Thathri and investigation is going on.
