JAMMU: To curb the violation of traffic rules and spread the awareness among the people, Traffic Rural Jammu on Wednesday Challaned 240 vehicles and seized 12 vehicles for various offences.
During the crackdown, the people were also counselled and asked to follow traffic rules for their own safety.
Meanwhile, Shaheen Wahid, SP Traffic Rural Jammu held traffic awareness campaign in the Government Higher Secondary School Rajpura, Government Middle School Randhwal and Government Higher Secondary School Vijaypur. The students were imparted awareness about the traffic rules. Demonstrations of wearing seat belt and helmet were also given.
During the interactive sessions, the students pledged to follow and spread the importance of following traffic rules. Later certificate of participation distributed among the students.
DySP Traffic Samba-Kathua Behari Lal and DTI Samba Inspector Tarsem Lal were also present.
