UDHAMPUR: A team of MVD Department headed by ARTO Udhampur Kuldeep Singh laid Naka on Jammu Srinagar National Highway in Udhampur and Challaned 80 vehicles in various acts of violation including contravention of route permit.
During checking ARTO took serious cognisance of the defaulters for violating the MVD Rules including contravention of route permit. Reports said that ARTO received many complains with regard to overloading, over charging and plying of music system in the vehicles thus abetting the menace of harassment to the daily computers. During checking team Challaned 80 vehicles while out of 80 vehicles 46 were compounded including 44 mini buses for different violations including overloading, without valid documents, without valid driving license, without HSRP and without proper uniform. Besides other violations under the MVD Act without valid PUC, few mini buses were Challaned twice same day for repeated violation by the ARTO Udhampur to curb the menace. ARTO warned the operators not to use mobile phone while driving, avoid overloading, don’t use music player in the vehicles and no way contravention of route permit shall be tolerated in future other wise strong legal action will be taken against the defaulters.
