STATE TIMES NEWS MENDHAR/DODA: Police on Tuesday foiled two bovine smuggling bids by rescuing 17 bovines and arrested two smugglers. As per details, a party of Police Station Mendhar laid a Naka at Sakhi Maidaan and intercepted a vehicle (JK12A- 6198) on way from Mankote towards Kashmir. During checking two bovines were found loaded in it which were rescued. Smuggler namely Mohd Imarn, son of Wali Mohd resident of Bhatidhar Tehsil Mendhar was arrested and a case vide FIR No 92/2019 under section 188 RPC 3 PC Act was registered against him. Meanwhile, During the intervening night June 9-10, 2019, a Police party led by SHO PS Dessa Inspector, Sandeep Parihar, under the supervision of Deputy Superintendent of Police Headquarters Doda Monaj Kumar laid a special Naka at Frella Dessa and rescued 15 bovines from the clutches of four bovine smugglers namely Mohd Qasim, son of Ab. Jabbar, Maneer Ahmed, son of Ghulam Mahideen, Mohd Sharief, son of Mohd Shabir and Bashir Ahmed, son of Sanullah all residents of Kastigarh. All the culprits have been arrested and a case under FIR No. 04/2019 under section 188 RPC 3PC Act was registered at Police Station Dessa and further investigation is in progress. The whole operation was conducted under the supervision of ASP Hqrs Doda Master Popsy.
