State Times News SAMBA: Market Inspection team on Wednesday seized around 161 kg polythene carry bags from the shopkeepers here from the Samba and Hiranagar areas. A team headed by Executive Officer MC Ajay Sangra along with Municipal Staff, inspected various markets in the Samba town and seized the banned plastic material being used and stored for use. All the shopkeepers were warned against the use of banned polythene carry bags to which they assured full cooperation. HIRANAGAR: Joint raid against polythene was carried out under the overall supervision of SDM Hiranagar in the presence of Tehsildar Hiranagar by officials of block Development Office Hiranagar, Municipal Committee Hiranagar, Forest Department and police department. Number of shops were checked and on the spot 111 kg polythene was seized and Rs 2800 fined was recovered from them. Tehsildar Sohan Lal warned the shopkeepers to stop use of polythene. Range officer Ashok Raina , Inspector Panchayt Sumit Kumar , SI JP Singh Sect Pyt Lukhinder Singh Ashwani and Vicky Khajuria were also present during the polythene drive.
