SAMBA: Police on Monday foiled a bovine smuggling bid by rescuing 11 bovines from the clutcxhes of the smugglers.
According to a report, a team of Ghagwal Police laid a Naka on National Highway and during checking a Truck (JK02AT-7911) which was coming from Kathua side was signaled to stop but driver accelerated his vehicle, ran away towards Ghagwal. The police party acting swiftly chased the said vehicle and intercepted the same near Nonath Ashram. The driver of vehicle fled away from the spot. However on checking, 11 bovines were found laden inside the said truck wh8ich were rescued. A case vide FIR No. 26/2017 under section 188/RPC, 2/3 PCA, 183/184/179 MV Act was registered and investigation is on to nab the driver.
